We were offered this site on a promotion agreement after the landowner unsuccessfully applied for outline planning permission to Tendring District Council for 136 dwellings. After undertaking a review which revealed the Council could not demonstrate a five year housing land supply, we moved quickly to prepare and submit an appeal against the refusal.
Alongside this we negotiated with an adjacent landowner to secure land to deliver a pedestrian and cycle connection, which proved to be invaluable when the appeal was assessed by the independent inspector. Following a hearing the appeal was allowed in May 2020. Advanced discussions are currently ongoing with a potential purchaser and the site is under offer.
